The interaction between virtual worlds and real life is evolving in many ways. One of the goals of VirtualAlterEgo is to cover the new ways in which people are using virtual worlds to alter and create new social realities in all areas of life. Work, school and play. We plan to cover mixed reality events, clubs, groups, businesses as well as new mixed reality applications that bridge real life and virtual worlds.
The next big thing in the development of virtual worlds and having them gain broader acceptance may not come from more computing power, advanced broadband or better in world features although they will certainly help in the future. The next big short term leap in broader adoption of virtual worlds as real social networks will be in merging them with real life in new mixed realities.
